We simply love architecture. And it was an absolute treat being able to work on such a magnificent home with local architects, Watershedd.

Back in 2021 we had the pleasure of collaborating with esteemed architecture, interior design and property development company, Watershedd. This was a special partnership, not just because we share a love for extraordinary and innovative design but, we share a passion for the wild Cornish landscape. A place we’re all lucky enough to call home.

Watershedd approached us with a tricky curved staircase design they had for a mega coastal property in Mawgan Porth. The property wrapped in red cedar timber and Cornish stone, built with serene and sociable modern living in mind.

Although the staircase is simplistic to the eye, it’s full of some pretty complex joinery elements. The challenge was a case of wrestling around with a tricky curved stairwell, open treads on the top flight, steam-bent spindles and a continuous handrail incorporating 5-axis CNC components. But we’re not ones to shy away from a challenge. Our team is full of the brightest minds who got to work and developed, made and fitted the staircase using Dinesen Oak, finished with a white-washed oil. It’s a real show-stopping number that shouldn’t be underestimated by its minimalism.
